A new radio show, The Conscious Call, debuted February 2, 2015 on WRES-FM 100.7.

The show, airing every Monday at 11:30 a.m., takes live calls at (828) 281-3065. The program will be rebroadcast Wednesdays and Fridays.

The Conscious Call invites like-minded, enthusiastic people to participate in a movement to lift community consciousness regarding health and wellness, education, and historical and current events, and to resurrect excellence within our communities around the country.

The movement began with desire to identify strong public speakers, parents, educators, and students who would share their insights, ideas, advocacy and time, to help others change their lives for the better in a real, verifiable way. In the case of the local show, we plan to offer training opportunities in sales and real estate so as to identify people who “want it bad enough” to work for it.

The principle part of this movement came from Dewayne Barton, founder and former Executive Director of Green Opportunities. His enthusiasm and commitment that set me on a course of action.

At the core, we intend to fund the programs from a “for-profit business.” The Conscious Call Speakers Bureau will seek speaking engagements around the country, and a percentage of the proceeds will fund community efforts here in Asheville. We do not have all the answers, so we invite you to get involved.

If you have suggestions or would like to participate as a speaker, volunteer, or guest on The Conscious Call radio program, visit www.theconsciouscall.com and fill in the “contact us” page. Listeners are also encouraged to “like us” on Facebook and “follow us” on Twitter to keep up with upcoming events.

Wake up, get up, stand up, and stay up! Answer the Call!
