“The New Jim Crow” will be the topic of the July 20th meeting of the Ethical Society of Asheville.

Jane White, community activist and volunteer extraordinaire, will share and discuss a video interview of Michelle Alexander, author of the book, The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness, which originally aired on C-Span 2.

White is a long-time community activist working to alleviate homelessness who volunteers in a number of Homeward Bound initiatives. She is also a Guardian ad Litem, an advocate for the Living Wage campaign, and chair of the Ethical Society of Asheville’s Program Committee.

The meeting is held from 2:00-3:30 p.m. at The Friends Meeting House, 227 Edgewood Road. Discussion, informal conversation, and light refreshments follow. All are welcome!
