As we think about the coming springtime, many of us make resolutions, set goals, and begin to move toward implementing our vision. And one truism is that extraordinary things can happen when opportunity and preparedness arrive at the same time. So the question to ask yourself about your own future is, will you be ready when opportunity knocks?
The best way to be ready is to be prepared in advance. To help you become prepared, the Asheville chapter of SCORE – the Senior Corps of Retired Executives – is offering a series of business-proven seminars to help prepare you for greater business success.
Each seminar will be taught by business owners, career professionals, and seasoned instructors who will set forth principles to help you with starting up your business and then ensuring that your business grows and thrives.
Coming up on Feb. 23, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. to Noon, SCORE will host a seminar entitled “Understanding Financials,” presented by Maceo Z. Keeling. Mr. Keeling is owner of Asheville Business Accelerators and an Executive Committee member-at-large for the Asheville chapter of SCORE. Numbers have a story to tell, and you need to see them the way the bankers do. Thus, in this seminar you’ll learn to interpret basic financial statements to better understand the health of your business.
Other seminars on marketing – traditional, Internet, social media – and sales, cash-flow, legal
issues, and recruitment and retention of employees will be presented by a team of business members of Asheville SCORE. What’s coming up? Everything you need to make your business thrive.
