Domestic Violence Awareness Month
More than 1 in 3 women report having experienced some form of domestic violence in their lifetime. In conjunction with Domestic Violence Awareness Month, The Chocolate Fetish® will donate the profits from the sale of specially created chocolate high-heel shoes to Helpmate, a local organization that provides support to victims of domestic violence.
Each limited-edition chocolate high-heel shoe boasts a unique purple ribbon pattern that has been specially designed for this promotion. Available in milk or dark chocolate, each shoe is carefully decorated by hand with colored chocolates and is about the size of a women’s size-five shoe.
The chocolate high-heel shoes will be available exclusively through the month of October at The Chocolate Fetish’s downtown Asheville shop and on their website for $32.95.
The Chocolate Fetish has partnered with Helpmate since 2005. Throughout the year, The Chocolate Fetish gives frequent donations to Helpmate as well as offers a Helpmate Box, the proceeds of which are donated to Helpmate. Their “Helpmate Assortment,” adorned with a purple ribbon, contains chocolate-covered caramels and New England-style butter crunch, sells for $16.95 and is available year round.
Elizabeth Foley, general manager of The Chocolate Fetish, says that her favorite part of their partnership with Helpmate is collecting gifts to be donated to victims at the shelter every year at Christmas. “We used to do a Secret Santa gift exchange, and one year I suggested that we give gifts to Helpmate instead. The generous response from our staff has been overwhelming.”
The Chocolate Fetish is located at 36 Haywood Street in downtown Asheville. For more information or to order online for shipping nationwide visit their website at www.chocolatefetish.com.
