A-B Tech Offers Free H.R. Classes
A-B Tech Community College is offering the following free Human Resources Development classes to assist the unemployed or underemployed:
Essential Workplace Skills will teach the skills that all employers want employees to have. Class activities include strategies to enhance skills of problem solving, decision-making, team-work, critical thinking, and self-management. The class is offered from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, from Sept. 9 to 18 in Hemlock 321 on the A-B Tech campus.
Maximizing Interview Skills will help curb nervousness and increase confidence in job interviews. Class topics include how to answer interview questions, appropriate dress for your interview, interview “dos and don’ts,” and tips on preparing résumés and cover letters. The class is offered from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, Sept. 16, 18, and 19 in Hemlock 310.
Healthcare Career Pathways will introduce the basic principles and concepts of a career as a healthcare professional. Class projects will include exploration of the skills, interests, and entry-level and academic requirements needed for specific jobs. This class will meet from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, from Oct. 7 to 28 in Hemlock 321.
