Speakers Available for Your Organization

The Western North Carolina Psychological Association is pleased to announce the inauguration of a Speakers Bureau. All the speakers are licensed psychologists in North Carolina and represent a broad range of specializations including clinical, educational, organizational, health, and academic psychology. All of the speakers are available for private professional consultations as well.

These presentations are appropriate for schools, churches, social, and service organizations. Program officers of the organization may negotiate and fine-tune the program to fit the needs of their group.

Among representative topics are Aging, Anger and anger control, Couples
Issues, Depression, Conflict Resolution, Stress Management,
Spirituality, and How to Avoid Psychotherapy.

There is no fee for this public service. However organizations at
considerable distance from Asheville would need to negotiate with the
speaker. It would be appropriate to offer mileage allowance. Dr. James
Harrison, chairman of the Speakers Bureau committee, observes that our
professional societies mandate that we “give psychology away.”
