Staff reports

Top Shelf Grill was founded by Jason Kowalske in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he built his unique mobile food kitchen with mainly recycled materials. Now, James Reed, manager and self-proclaimed chef, along with owners Dennis and Maxine Quinlan, have relocated Top Shelf Grill to Asheville, NC.

This handy mobile unit with its fully functioning commercial stainless steel kitchen can travel anywhere to prepare your favorite meals. The mobile unit itself is also available for rental purposes. Some of the most popular foods among Reed’s wide variety of offerings have been steak fajita wraps, vegetarian kabobs, and burgers created from foods ranging from black beans to Angus beef.

Top Shelf Grill is tentatively slated to prepare its broad range of
culinary specialties at the Southern Energy & Environment Expo
August 21-23 and at the Lexington Avenue Arts & Fun Festival on
September 6. Recently the staff has volunteered its services for the
Food Lion Skate Park, honoring the end-of-summer camp for the kids and
their families.

The grill also prepared food for Pritchard Park’s recent 77th
birthday party, and later that evening for the first “Movies in the
Park,” which showed the 1932 version of “Tarzan of the Apes.”

The company’s sister business, the Cinnamon Glazed Roasted
Almond stand, at Prichard Park, is manned by Dennis Quinlan and open
seven days a week, weather permitting. The almonds are roasted and
glazed fresh daily, and the owners are glad to fill large orders, group
and business meetings as well as individual orders. Beginning November
1 the stand will have gift tins available for the holiday season,
starting at $10.
