2008 Buncombe County Women’s Agenda Assembly

On Saturday, September 20, 2008 from 1-4 p.m., all women of Buncombe County will have an opportunity to discuss and prioritize policy/legislative issues such as Access to Health Care, Pay Equity, and Economic Self Sufficiency.

Hosted by the Buncombe County Women’s Commission in conjunction with North Carolina Women United, the 2008 Women’s Agenda Assembly is a bipartisan gathering designed to identify and prioritize the needs and issues of Buncombe County women. Guest speakers include Dr. Betty Young, President of A-B Tech; Linda Kinney, MHA of Care Share Health Alliances; and Rep. Susan Fisher.

The Buncombe County Women’s Commission, formerly the Women’s Involvement Advisory Council, is a 15-member Board that strives to be a voice and resource for today’s women. The BCWC seeks to identify and communicate the special needs and issues of Buncombe County women and provide support to address those needs.
