The Webby Awards: Black & Viral

Celebrating Black digital excellence.

From 1-2 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2025, celebrate Black digital excellence.

Viral moments, cultural shifts, new platform breakthroughs—Black creators, and their work, have been at the center of it all. They don’t just participate in Internet culture; they create it.

Yet the systems supporting them often fall short. How can we build better pathways to amplify their influence, and help create long lasting careers?

Join the Webby Awards and NAACP for ‘Black & Viral,’ a three-part series that celebrates Black digital excellence while exploring what it takes to protect and uplift it.

This first edition will explore how Black creators have carved lanes by blending comedy and advocacy. You’ll be able to hear from creators who have shaped Internet culture in the past. They will show us how they share meaningful messages and how to achieve longevity.

Hosted by Jordana Jarrett, Head of Brand Strategy for the Webby Awards, the event features Vanessa Mbonu, Vice President, Marketing, NAACP; Franchesca Ramsey, actor, writer, and creator/star of the award-winning web series MTV Decoded; and Scott Evans, host and creator of the Webby award-winning talk show House Guest.
