Former First Lady Michelle Obama is sharing more candid insight over her thoughts on race relations, including her own experiences and microaggressions.
In the most recent episode of her self-titled podcast, she shared with her close friends, Denielle Pemberton-Heard, Kelly Dibble, and Dr. Sharon Malone that social status and money will not absolve anyone from racism and bigotry.
“When I’ve been completely incognito, during the eight years in the White House, walking the dogs on the canal, people will come up and pet my dogs, but will not look me in the eye,” Obama said. “They don’t know it’s me.”
Obama continued, “White folks don’t understand it’s like that. It’s so telling of how white America views people who are not like them. You know, we don’t exist. And when we do exist, we exist as a threat, and that’s exhausting.”

The divorce between rap icon Dr. Dre and his wife, Nicole Young, was going to be far from a smooth parting. Recently, the contention has been intensified.
According to The Blast, Dr. Dre claims that Young is refusing to turn over his personal items from the beach house they shared together. The items include golf clubs, a motorcycle, and his gun.
The producer alleges that Young refused to allow him to retrieve his belongings and transport them to his Hollywood Hills home. In the letter to Young’s legal team, Dre’s lawyers wrote:
“Mr. Young sent someone to Malibu to pick up some of his personal belongings (something Ms. Young does almost daily at the Brentwood home). At first, your client said ok, but after walking away for 5 minutes (assumedly to call your office) she came back and rejected the request. The items in question are Mr. Young’s golf clubs, his motorcycle, and his registered firearm for return to the gun safe at Chalon (the Brentwood home)… Please confirm that Mr. Young can have someone return to Malibu to retrieve his personal items without further interference.”
Dre claims that he has allowed Young access to his home to collect her items from his home, and he would like to be able to do the same.
Currently, Young is contesting the validity of the prenup, claiming that she signed the document under pressure from the producer.
Sherri Shepherd, former co-host of The View, has opened up about her challenging times on the daytime talk show.
For the better part of a decade, Shepherd put on a brave face while sitting next to Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, and Joy Behar. Now, the comedian shares that her time on the show was the one of the most painful, yet rewarding, experiences of her live.
“It was the most painful experience that I’ve ever gone through, but it was the best experience,” Shepherd told People recently. “Barbara (Walters) was so hard on me. I cried for three years in my dressing room because she was so hard on me, but she did it out of love.”
Shepherd’s feelings of insecurity were amplified when fellow talk-show host Wendy Williams opined on her own show that Shepherd could be easily be “replaced with a potato sack.” In response, Shepherd said that Walters consoled her by saying, “I love you. I just need you to read a book, dear, and defend what you believe, and speak up.”
Is NeNe Leakes gone from the Real Housewives of Atlanta again, and for good?
The mainstay’s status remains unclear. However, filming for the new season has already begun with new cast members actress Drew Sidora and YouTuber LaToya Ali. In July, there were reports that her return to the series was up in the air, but according to a fellow former housewife from a different series, Leakes won’t be returning.
While production on the new season of RHOA has started and most of the cast members are back to work, Leakes has been spending her time tweeting about the importance of standing up for Black women, and about poor treatment she felt she had been subjected to. However, she didn’t name who she was speaking of.
“I have protected everyone for years and covered up things I shouldn’t have!” Leakes tweeted. “I took the beating so others didn’t have to and no one has protected me or stood up for me. Y’all have gone silent and turned the other cheek. You are not exempt from getting this same treatment one day.”
