Fundraiser hosted by Youth Transformed for Life
On Saturday, May 12, Youth Transformed for Life (YTL) will hold its third annual Sweethearts Supper fundraiser from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Arthur R. Edington Center, 133 Livingston Street.
The event will feature food by Chef Clarence Robinson from Cooking with Comedy Catering, and Chef Sherri Davis from SD’s Catering and Food Service and Baked Pie Company. Tickets are $45 for individuals and $85 for couples and are available online at www.ytltraining.org.
Proceeds will go to support YTL’s G.R.A.C.E (Growing in Responsibility by Accepting Challenges Everyday) for Teens programs which focus on creating equity for disadvantaged teens, homeless teens, and young adult offenders reentering the workforce.
YTL is committed to working outside of the classroom to close the achievement (opportunity) gap that exists within the Asheville City Schools. By creating positive summer experiences and opportunities to participate in activities that challenge them both physically and intellectually, YTL’s summer program seeks to be a change agent in the lives of program participants. The program meets participants where they are and provides them with the tools necessary to build confidence in themselves, providing support academically and socially.
