A Tribute To Women In Jazz

Jazz vocalist Rockell Scott’s interest in music began at the age of nine with piano and vocal performance in her hometown of Brevard, N.C.
She performed frequently at local events in succeeding years and counts among the highlights singing for former President Gerald R. Ford during his visit to Brevard College. Rockell was a touring vocalist with the United States Air Force Band of Mid-Amercia stationed at Scott AFB, Illinois.
Scott is a frequent vocalist in Western North Carolina and also serves in a musical capacity at her local church. She was recently featured at The Jazz Standard in New York City with jazz pianist Cyrus Chestnut and his trio.
