Papa Grows Funk released its latest album, Needle in the Groove, back in March, but the quintet shows no signs of slowing down. With no playlists and no rehearsals, every Papa Grows Funk performance is its own masterpiece of funk. On any given night, the band might change songs or grooves. The group of all-star musicians will perform at 6 p.m. Friday, July 27 on the Battery Park Stage during the Bele Chere Festival.
