Asheville AIDS Walk 2008: Saturday, October 4
The 4th annual Asheville AIDS Walk 2008 will be held Saturday, October 4 at 11 a.m. at Ferguson Auditorium on the campus of AB Tech. Walkers will head from the college to downtown Asheville’s Pack Square and back again. Courtesy transportation will be provided.
The event is free and children and pets are welcome. This year’s walk is sponsored by Western North Carolina AIDS Project, Asheville Parks and Recreation, Buncombe County Health Center, “Out in Asheville”, Western Carolina Treatment Center, Mt. Zion Community Development, Phoenix Transgender Group, Asheville Purple Pages, and Phi Beta Lambda at AB Tech.
Stylish AIDS Walk 2008 T-shirts will be available. Please bring a non-perishable food or personal care item for donation to “Loving Food Resources”; a food pantry serving people living with HIV/AIDS and in home hospice care.
Over 33 million people are living with HIV/AIDS. This epidemic affects our planet, our nation and our local community. Come out and walk to share your awareness that HIV/AIDS is not a moral or political issue, it is a human issue. Get tested.
