Asheville

The Ingles Independence Day Block Party returns on July 4 from noon to 10 p.m. in downtown Asheville’s South Slope. Enjoy live music, Ultimate Air Dogs shows, food trucks, and local vendors. Admission is free. More details at www.ashevilledowntown.org/events/independence-day-block-party.

Banner Elk

Banner Elk’s July 4 celebration begins with a charming small‑town parade at 11 a.m. down Main Street. The Party in the Park follows from noon to 3 p.m. with food vendors, games, and the popular Kiwanis duck races. While the town doesn’t host its own fireworks, nearby shows at Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain Resorts begin after 9 p.m.

Black Mountain

Fireworks at dusk behind the former Bi‑Lo Grocery Store (205 NC‑9), behind Starbucks and The UPS Store. Parking is available in the former Bi‑Lo lot and throughout downtown.

Boone & Blowing Rock

Tweetsie Railroad hosts the High Country’s largest fireworks display on July 4, with fireworks at 9:30 p.m. The park stays open until 9 p.m., offering rides and Wild West shows beforehand. On Saturday, July 5, Blowing Rock holds a morning parade on Main Street and family games in Memorial Park.

Brevard

Brevard celebrates Independence Day and America’s 250th anniversary downtown July 3 & 4. Friday evening features local vendors, food trucks, a beer garden, and live music. Saturday’s festivities include a farmers market, craft vendors, classic cars, a bike parade, family activities, patriotic ceremonies, and evening fireworks.

Bryson City Freedom Fest

Held in downtown Bryson City, Freedom Fest features arts and crafts, food vendors, and a hometown parade at 10:30 a.m. Live music begins at 6 p.m., and fireworks light up the sky at 10 p.m., visible downtown and over the Tuckasegee River. Don’t miss the watermelon‑eating contest.

Cashiers

The Fireworks Extravaganza on the Green takes place July 3 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Enjoy live music by Commodore Fox, local food vendors, drinks from Innovation Brewing, and fireworks at dark. Bring lawn chairs and blankets (no pets or tents). Admission is free.

Cherokee

Cherokee hosts its annual Powwow from Friday through Sunday of July Fourth weekend, featuring authentic dancing, drumming, and cultural celebrations from the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. A free fireworks show is typically held Saturday around 10 p.m. at the Old Acquoni Expo Center. Read more about the Cherokee Powwow.

Columbus

Columbus hosts its long‑running “Fabulous 4th” Festival on July 4 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Expect music, food, craft vendors, a car show (10 a.m.–2:30 p.m.), and kids’ rides. Fireworks begin around 9:45 p.m. at Stearns Park. Free and family‑friendly.

Hendersonville

America 250 Celebration: Pledge of Allegiance at 10 a.m. (Historic Courthouse); Parade on Main Street at 10:30 a.m.; Reading of the Declaration of Independence at 11:30 a.m.; Heritage Museum events from 10 a.m.–5 p.m.; Live music from 5–7:30 p.m.; Fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Lake Glenville

“Fireworks Over the Lake” begins Saturday around 9:30 p.m. and can be viewed by boat or from scenic roadside overlooks. A patriotic boat parade kicks off the evening around 8 p.m.

Lake Julian

Fireworks at Lake Julian Park will take place at dark (~9:15 pm). Bring a lawn chair or blanket and find a spot by the lake. Parking is available at Estes Elementary with shuttle service. No pets, alcohol, or tobacco are allowed. Admission is free. From Asheville, take I-26 East to Exit 37, then Long Shoals Road to the park.

Lake Junaluska

Fireworks over the lake on July 3 at 9:15 p.m. On July 4, a community parade starts at 11 a.m., followed by a Family Fun picnic at noon. Concerts, a boat flotilla, and more are planned.

Lake Lure

The town’s public celebration at the Beach/Marina features live music, family activities, and fireworks at dark (around 9:30 p.m.).

Marion

Downtown Marion celebrates July 4 with an evening parade at 6 p.m., a street dance at 6:30 p.m., and fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Enjoy food vendors, and inflatables for kids. The parade runs along Main Street from Barnard to Spring. Free and family‑friendly.

Robbinsville

The Graham County Heritage Festival in downtown Robbinsville runs July 3 & 4. Enjoy crafts, live music, games, a veterans tribute, and the Lil’ Miss and Mr. Firecracker contests. Fireworks at dusk on Saturday, July 5. Free admission.

Sylva

July 4th Fireworks Fest with live music begins at 6:30 p.m. at Bridge Park; fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Bring a chair. Enjoy small‑town charm as you explore Main Street shops and eateries.

Valdese

Celebrate Independence Day with a family‑friendly concert and fireworks around 9:15 p.m. The free event takes place near the Old Rock School and Temple Field. Bring a chair and arrive early for parking.
