Apply for Scholarships Now at A-B Tech

A-B Tech has scholarships designated for minority students.

A-B Tech Community College has dozens of scholarships available for students starting their students this fall.

The Foundation Scholarship application process is open until April 1, 2022 with scholarships awarded in early June. A-B Tech also has scholarships available designated for minority students.

Scholarships

Shapiro-Green Endowed Scholarship awarded to African American and Latino students enrolled in any curriculum program. Preference is given to Asheville High School graduates.

Sam Barnes Minority Scholarship established in memory of Samuel Barnes (1869-1957). Sam Barnes was the first greenskeeper at the Biltmore Forest Country Club and the Biltmore House.

Roberta Manley Memorial Endowed Scholarship gives preference to minority students who are aged 40 years or older with life experiences and barriers to obtaining an education.

Pride in Technical Education Scholarship will preference given to African American students and North Carolina residents.

Osborne M. Hart Endowed Scholarship is awarded to African American students who have been accepted into a curriculum program at A-B Tech and who are enrolled as full-time students.

Asheville Latin Americans for Advancement Society Merit Scholarship is awarded to Latino residents of Western North Carolina paying out-of-state tuition at A-B Tech.

“I have been able to buy books and art supplies that I need. That has been very beneficial to me,” said Michael Borkey, an Associate in Fine Arts student and scholarship recipient.
