The Conscious Corner by Maceo Z. Keeling, Sr. –

This day is burgeoning with opportunity, and it is my singular responsibility to seize this moment to assert my power and talent over it.

For far too long I have allowed people who are naysayers, sideline critics, haters, and do nothing folks, to influence my behaviors, thoughts and actions. These people do little, and complain when they have little.

I have often written about the importance of being present and acting now to affect the results you want in your own life.

My name first appeared in The Urban News in August 2012 in an article titled, “Success, Power, and a Real Nice Guy.” That was then, this is now. It’s been nearly 10 years and I have held myself back from writing my book, my story, my truth.

I have evolved since then, and I continue to find my voice. Hardly more than a meow at first, today I choose to ROAR! I will not accomplish this alone. I am grateful for the support of Johnnie Grant, and editor Moe White, who covers my flaws and faux pas, and encourages me to continue to write anyway.

With this article, I’m putting myself all the way out there. As I have stated many times, it is crucial to leverage yourself in order to achieve your goals. To that end, I am changing direction slightly and I want your help.

I am committing to write a book and deliver it to the public in 2022. I will choose one excerpt from a chapter every month and publish it in The Urban News.

I don’t suppose Moe White will shoot me over a typo, he hasn’t yet. This article is about putting yourself in the position to succeed with the help of others. It’s about showing up and showing out!
