Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Gamma Gamma Omega Chapter Hosts Senior Appreciation Day

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Gamma Gamma Omega Chapter, hosted its annual Senior Appreciation Day on May 21, 2016, at Tried Stone Missionary Baptist Church.

Ten high school seniors from area schools were present. The schools and students were:
A.C. Reynolds High School: Taygan Caldwell and Keaira Workman
Asheville High School: Raekwon Griffin, Taekwon Griffin, and Jasmine Washington
Clyde A. Erwin High School: Melina Gonzalez, Melia Kendall, Jasmine Lee, Viviana Leon, Ariadna Martinez, Dominique Morgan, and Diana Sanchez
Hendersonville High School: Sierra Arant
School of Inquiry and Life Sciences at Asheville: Jayla Bunn and Cedetria Tranchant
Sandra Anderson, President of Gamma Gamma Omega Chapter, welcomed the honored seniors, their parents, friends, and members of the sorority. After an invocation offered by Jacqueline King, Brenda Wilkerson spoke about the occasion.
Verita Woods then introduced Asheville High principal Joyce Best, who delivered inspirational words of encouragement. Dorothy Johnson and Karol Pittman awarded plaques to each graduating senior. To conclude this celebration, Sandra Anderson offered closing remarks.
The 2016 class will be attending several different colleges and universities.
