Asheville Chapter of the Links, Inc. to Conduct Heart Health Classes

The Asheville Chapter of the Links, Incorporated, will hold five Heart Health education classes for minority women on Saturdays between December 19 and February 6, 2016.
The Links, Inc. is an international, not-for-profit corporation, established in 1946. Membership consists of nearly 14,000 professional women of color in 282 chapters located in 41 states, the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. It is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations, committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry.
The Links, Inc. has had a focus on heart health in minority women for many years and continues to focus on improving outcomes through education. Their signature program, “HeartLinks to Heart Health,” has a primary goal to raise awareness about the seriousness of heart disease as the number one killer of women and to motivate women to take action toward lowering and/or controlling related risk factors.
