The holiday season in Asheville officially kicks off the week before Thanksgiving with the 69th Annual Asheville Holiday Parade, presented by Bojangles, on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 11 a.m.
The parade begins on Biltmore Avenue at South Charlotte Street and heads north to the Vance Monument, then west on Patton Avenue ending around South French Broad Avenue. Performance stops will be at the Vance Monument at the corner of Biltmore Avenue and Patton Avenue at Pritchard Park. There will be around 100 entries as the Asheville Holiday Parade rolls, throughout downtown Asheville. Bojangles will have food and beverages available for sale near the Vance Monument and at Pritchard Park.
All streets leading into the parade route and line-up area will be impacted. Streets adjacent to the parade routes will not be accessible. The best way to get to the parade is to walk, or take Asheville Transit from one of the park-and-ride lots. This way, you don’t have to find parking, and you’re dropped off close to the parade route.
There will be parking available (as entry permits) at the City of Asheville parking garages. City of Asheville Police Department will begin clearing and closing downtown streets at about 8 a.m., or earlier. Parking meters along the parade route will be closed at 6 a.m. Meters will be bagged to notate closure.
Immediately following the parade, Ingles JingleFest takes place in Pack Square Park from 1-4 p.m. There will be bouncy houses, games, activities, free photos with Santa, and more. A $2 wristband will allow kids to play throughout the event on the inflatables.
Cars that remain parked through Sunday, November 22 are subject to towing.
