Fun For All Ages at Numan’s in the Tennessee Region
Numan’s in the historic Blue Plum district of Johnson City is fast becoming a regional landmark and a must-visit for those who live in the region or are just visiting. The former Chucky Trading Company was mostly known for its Mexican cuisine. Now owners Dan and Jan Numan are realizing the dream they had when they moved Chucky from a rural setting outside Jonesborough to a revitalizing downtown.
In 2003, the Numans added another attraction to their already busy
enterprise, which contains a restaurant, two sports bars, and two
billiard parlors. On the first floor they opened a poker room and
founded the Tennessee Poker League.
Today the league has more than 1,000 members and has franchises
in locations throughout the region. Also, a live entertainment venue
with stages both up- and downstairs; standing-room-only crowds of all
ages pack the main dining area Friday and Saturday nights for “Jamming
with Jan” karaoke, hosted by Jan Numan herself.
