$61,760 (min) $75,688(mid). The salary will depend on qualifications and experience.
Under general supervision, performs professional engineering duties of average difficulty in the design, construction, and inspection of municipal projects or in the planning, installation, and maintenance of equipment, facilities, or various control systems.
Work involves plan review and engineering assistance related to Capital Improvement Projects, sanitary sewer rehabilitation, or new construction projects undertaken by the District.
Employee provides overall project management and is responsible for designing a collection system and treatment system improvements, preparing construction plans and specifications. The employee works with the public, contractors, Director and Assistant Director of Engineering, and other MSD staff to explain project intentions and to obtain and provide the necessary information. The employee is responsible for the review and approval of work performed by consultants or staff for the construction of Capital Improvement Projects.
Supports Director and Assistant Director of Engineering in technical, fiscal, and project management functions, and must also exercise considerable tact and courtesy in frequent contact with property owners, residents, vendors, various governmental agencies, and the general public. Reports to Assistant Director of Engineering.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering and a minimum of 3years of experience in sanitary sewer system construction and design work; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
•Engineering Intern (EI) certificate is required
•Possession of a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
•Registration as North Carolina Professional Engineer
