Salary Range: 36,769-56,276. Depending on qualifications and experience.
Under general supervision, performs skilled technical work in the calibration, maintenance, repair and replacement of signaling, instrumentation and electrical systems employed in the wastewater treatment facilities of the Metropolitan Sewerage District of Buncombe County.
Responsible for maintaining repair parts inventory.
Work involves installing, inspecting, diagnosing and repairing malfunctions in electronic, pneumatic, automated, instrumentation and control systems employed in the various operations of water and wastewater facilities for the District. Work also involves performing calibrations and preventive maintenance on instrumentation; and preparation and maintenance of preventive maintenance and repair logs or equipment and instrumentation.
Performs preventive maintenance on instrumentation, control boxes, electrical and control systems.
Courtesy, tact, and firmness are required in dealing with contractors, vendors and other departmental personnel. Independent judgment and initiative are required in diagnosing and maintaining instrumentation used in the water and wastewater treatment facilities of the District Reports to the Electrical Maintenance Crew Leader.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Associate degree or Journeyman’s card in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field
5 to 10 years of experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of instrumentation and control equipment, electrical circuits, pneumatic and automated systems.
Must be able to read shop drawings, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, blueprints, etc; completed required safety trainings (ArcFlash, LO//TO, Confined Space, Lifting safety, HazCom, etc.); or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
Must possess strong computer skills to install and test equipment, write reports and chart performance
Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the State of North Carolina
