Mental Health Services with Medicaid through the Community Medicaid Waiver
The Department of Health and Human Services announces that Western Highlands Network (WHN) has been selected as the next LME of the 1915 (b)(c) Medicaid Waiver.  WHN encourages and requests all consumers, families and stakeholders to attend the Community Medicaid Waiver Information Sessions.

January 4, 2011 – Buncombe County from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Held at AB Tech Community College, in the Simpson Lecture Hall.
March 9, 2011 – Henderson County from 6 to 8 p.m. Hendersonville Public Library, Kaplan Auditorium.

The Art of Ethics
December 17 – The Art of Ethics: Lessons Learned from the Portland
Conference. How do we view decisionmaking when we consider the shadows
and light cast by patients and their families, providers and clergy,
medical ethicists, and one’s own very personal response? The Art of
Ethics will open that discussion and provide new insights. Held at
MAHEC.

December Walks with Gary in Hendersonville
Tuesday, December 21 – First day of winter walk will be held at 10
a.m. Walk with Gary from Jackson Park to Patton Park and back on the
Oklawaha Greenway. Meet in parking lot by Recreation Department Office
in Jackson Park. Walkers can walk “park to park” on a scenic paved path.
Out and back is a pleasant four mile stroll.
