Who is Al Bailey? Al is a native of Elizabeth City, NC. He is also a man who is passionate about his chosen profession, healing.

“Natural healing usually refers to the use of non-invasive and nonpharmaceutical techniques to help heal the patient. When most people use the term natural healing, they are usually referring to physical healing techniques only.” This quotation was taken from the article, What is holistic Medicine?” www.holisticmed.com/whatis.html .

Al’s schema is to teach people to take control of their own healing. He specializes in body work and massage. He moved to Asheville in order to master the art of massage. “This place,” he says, “is a great place to gain insight. The challenge is to make people become their best.” He does not compete with others; he is his own strongest competitor.

According to this
distinctive man, “I work on people before meeting them. Tone reveals
how people relate to their breathing. For example, breathing is the
first connection to stress. In order to control stress, one must go to
the root of the problem. We breathe like the ocean. The ocean has a
rhythm, and so does our breathing. There are big waves with small waves
coming between these big waves. Surfers describe this activity as a set
of waves. The human breath rhythm is referred to as a cycle. One should
hold his/her tongue to the roof of the mouth until the big breath
comes. When it comes, the tongue, lips, and jaw should be relaxed to
allow a complete exhalation.

When the inhalation occurs the tongue is put back to the roof of the
mouth. The diaphragm relaxes, allowing the belly to let the lungs fill
with air. If this is practiced over a period of time, the body becomes
accustomed to this action, and it is not thought about anymore. It
becomes an automatic response to stress and other disorders. Mindfully
watching the breath keeps the mind clear and in the moment.

“My information comes to me through pain received in a car crash. The
crash occurred December 29, 1980. It was 45 degrees outside, raining,
and the time was 6:55 pm. This near death experience put me on track
and returned me to my natural rhythm.

Through the process of self healing, I received information and
understanding of how breath is connected to all movement and thought. I
would have a relapse of my pain and was not able to walk for three or
four days at a time. This would happen every three or four months. My
back would go out, and that’s when the information would come. I took
notes on these thoughts. That near death experience helped me to
understand myself.

“That area where the body holds pain is connected to bone; bones hold
minerals. The minerals carry knowledge and information. When a client
faces pain in his/her body, information is revealed on how the past is
relating to the moment. We have been taught one dimensionally that it
is all about what is in our head, but the body remembers more than the
mind can know and knows more than the mind can remember.”

This information has been captured in a book that Al has written
entitled “Living in Rhythm from N.O.W.O.N.,” an acronym meaning No
Other Way of Nurturing. His book is in the edit phase right now and has
not yet been published.
