Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church broke ground on September 24, 2017 for the new education and administrative building.

Rev. Dr. Nilous Avery, II officiated at the ceremony. He was accompanied by the congregation and choir from Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Salisbury, North Carolina.

The new building will house administrative offices as well as an educational classroom for spiritual growth. Rev. Dr. John H. Grant says of the new addition, “I’ve been waiting to see this facility materialize for 28 years; this has been a long journey.”

Shirley Willis, First Lady Belinda Grant, Minister Ann White, Sister Patricia Simpson, Deacon Eugene Galloway, Deacon Roy Harris, Deacon Bernard Oliphant, Brother Jesse Ray, and consultant Gregory Sills.

“This committee has met weekly over the last year to develop and design this facility within the approved budget. As part of this strategic plan, all recommendations were reviewed and approved by the congregation for implementation,” said Deacon Oliphant.
