Celebration begins at 4 p.m. at 2 Herman Street in Asheville.

Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church

Groundbreaking Ceremony
Sunday, September 24
For the new Education and Administration Building takes place at 4 p.m. at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church. This will be an historic event for one of the oldest minority churches in Asheville. Host minister will be Rev. Dr. Nilous Avery II of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Salisbury and President of the General Baptist State Convention, along with his choir and congregation. Nazareth First Missionary Baptist Church

Celebrating 150 Years of God’s Faithfulness: 1867-2017
Friday, October 20
A banquet will be held at 6 p.m. at the Asheville Event Centre, located at 291 Sweeten Creek Road. The keynote speaker will be Asheville native and Civil Rights attorney, James “Bo-Bo” Ferguson.
