Charles George VA Medical Center to Host Veterans’ Town Hall Meeting

Charles George VA Medical Center_AshevilleAsheville, N.C. – A Veterans’ town hall meeting will be held at 5 p.m.,  Dec. 10, at the Charles George VA Medical Center, 1100 Tunnel Rd., Asheville,  to allow Veterans and their families a chance to present questions and concerns about their VA healthcare and services.  The town hall-style session is open to the public.

Elected officials, media, and other stakeholders are also invited to attend the meeting, which will take place on the lower level of the Atrium located just inside the main entrance of the facility.
This town hall meeting is in support of VA Secretary Robert McDonald’s efforts to increase transparency of VA operations and reaffirm public trust.  “I am pleased that we once again have another chance to connect with our Veterans in this manner,” said Medical Center Director Cynthia Breyfogle.  “This quarterly event is one of many engagements we maintain with our Veterans to hear their comments about what is and isn’t working and then use that feedback to transform the way we deliver care and services to meet their expectations.”

In addition to medical center leadership and staff members, representatives from the Veterans Benefits Administration’s Winston-Salem Regional Office will also be on site to provide assistance to Veterans.  For more information, contact Jeff Hillard at (828) 298-7911, ext. 5653.
