National Senior Kappa Week, celebrated every year during the third week of May, is designed for chapters and their Senior Kappa Affairs Committee to pursue at least one initiative geared toward Senior Kappas and/or senior citizens in their respective service area.

This year, the Asheville Alumni chapter invited Senior Kappas to lunch with their Silhouettes (spouses of Kappa men). Walter Byrd and Dr. Larry McCallum were recognized by the chapter as Senior Kappas and were presented with tokens of appreciation from the chapter. Byrd, Asheville Alumni chapter Strategus, and Silhouette Sharon Byrd, McCallum, chapter Keeper of the Exchequer and Silhouette Berta McCallum, were joined for lunch, with other Senior Kappas, by Stephen Blount, Middle Eastern Province Strategus and Polemarch of the Mu Tau (Mars Hill University) of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, and Dr. Lowell K. Davis, Keeper of Records for the Asheville Alumni chapter.

Together the two Senior Kappas recognized represent over eighty-five years of service to the Noble Klan.
