Gamma Gamma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., of Asheville, NC, and the undergraduate chapter, Kappa Alpha, Western Carolina University, Cullowhee, NC, hosted the Western Carolina Cluster, Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Crown Plaza Resort Hotel in Asheville.

The Western Carolina Cluster Coordinator was Mrs. Felicia Culbreath-Setzer. Regional Director Joyce Henderson from the Mid-Atlantic Region presented informative learning sessions to the Cluster meeting.

A total of 273 members from various chapters attended the gathering, representing the following chapters: Delta Xi Omega, Salisbury; Zeta Mu Omega, Gastonia; Lambda Upsilon Omega, Concord; Xi Phi Omega, Hickory; Rho Psi Omega, Charlotte; Omega Iota Omega, Charlotte; Alpha Lambda Omega, Charlotte; and Gamma Gamma Omega, Asheville.

In addition to the meetings, all chapters in the Western Carolina Cluster contributed to a joint Community Project, filling 180 book bags with healthful snacks and school supplies to be presented to the Resident Council of the Housing Authority of the City of Asheville. HACA Executive Director Gene Bell and staff members accepted the book bags on behalf of the children.
