The elections that matter most to us locally are municipal elections.

They matter because issues you care about like policing, affordable housing, and other community issues are determined by our City Council. In Asheville, the 2017 Primary will be October 10, and Election Day is November 7.

Asheville-Buncombe County NAACP and our coalition partner, Democracy NC, are getting folks ready to vote. Your help is needed to register voters!

Need a refresher or you’re not sure how to register folks to vote? We have four different Voter Registration Trainings in Asheville this August.

  • Saturday, August 12: 1-2:30 p.m. at the Eddington Center, 285 Livingston Street, Asheville 28801.
  • Monday, August 15: 7-8:30 p.m. at the YWCA of Asheville, 185 S French Broad Ave., Asheville 28801.
  • Saturday, August 19: 10-11:30 a.m. training at YWCA of Asheville; noon-2 p.m. community canvass.
  • Wednesday, August 23: 6-7:30 p.m. at the Eddington Center.
