Beta Lambda Zeta Chapter’s 2013 Debutant Presentation

Beta Lambda Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. presented five young women at their 61st Debutant Presentation on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at The Event Centre at 991 Sweeten Creek Road. Proceeds from the event will be used for scholarships, contributions to community service organizations, and humanitarian projects. Sarah Hart is president of Beta Lambda Zeta Chapter.

Barbara Lewis, Norma Baynes, and Harriet Ray co-chaired the event, held in conjunction with the Finer Womanhood Program. Debutantes presented were:

Queen – Miss Kelsey Nicole Simmons, a sophomore at the School of Inquiry and Life Science (SILSA) at Asheville High School. She is the daughter of Mr. Matthew Hendon and Ms. Mardrianna Simmons. Her Marshall (escort) was Mr. Matthew Hendon, and her sponsors were Ms. Barbara Lewis and Ms. Johnnie Walker.

1st Runner-Up – Miss Briana Ne’Cole Bunn, a senior at SILSA and the daughter of Ms. Demetria Williams, escorted by Mr. Elbert Williams and sponsored by Ms. Norma Baynes.

2nd Runner-Up – Miss Kelsie Loren Henry, an Asheville High School sophomore and the daughter of Mr. Victor Simpkins and Ms. Kimberly Simpkins. Christopher Roland was her Marshall, and her sponsor was Ms. Sarah Hart.

Debutant Participant – Miss Shaikee NaQue Macon, a senior at Brevard High School and daughter of Ms. Phratasia Macon. She was escorted by Mr. Jerome Howell and sponsored by Ms. Bernice Gash and Ms. Vivian Ridley.

Debutant Participant – Natia Sharmeer Searles, a senior at Asheville High School. The daughter of Ms. Lavonda Hearst and Ms. Venus Searles, her Marshall was Mr. Michael Keener, and her sponsor was Ms. Harriet Ray.
