A-B Tech’s Center for Business and Technology Incubation is accepting applications for its weeklong summer day camp for rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors interested in business ownership.

The Young Entrepreneurial Scholars (YES!) Camp is funded by North ‘s Rural Entrepreneurship through Action Learning (NC REAL) program. The one-week program will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 13-17. Registration is $25, payable upon acceptance.

New to the program is a free Middle School Academy for sixth- to eighth-grade students from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 18 and 19. Both camps are held at the College’s Enka campus.

“The idea behind the new middle-school camp is to introduce the
students to the ideas of entrepreneurship, creative thinking, and fun,
interactive activities to engage students,” said Christy Ramm of the A-B
Tech Small Business Center. “The two-day camp will give them the
foundation for ideas and concepts that will be expanded in the full week
long high school camp.”

Students will learn how to apply for a business loan and about
resources in their community. They will also gain an understanding of
entrepreneurship as a viable career option and meet and learn from
successful entrepreneurs.

Space is limited and the application deadline is April 29. For
