In this season of giving, Asheville Buncombe County NAACP urges you to support BeLoved Asheville!
Donations to this outstanding community organization can go a long way in helping them meet their mission to provide service to the homeless, feed the hungry, and fight poverty and prejudice. They are doing incredible work in our community connecting people to much-needed services—including Street Medics—while framing what they do in a spirit of love and acceptance.
BeLoved most urgently needs monthly sustainers—and no amount is too small! Donating monthly at any level goes directly to their mission, as they have no salaried personnel, and are 100% powered by volunteers.
To become a monthly donor, go to www.belovedasheville.com; click on “Donate,” then select the monthly donors option. Your monthly contribution will help BeLoved provide bus passes for folks seeking work and who have no other mode of transportation, make it possible for their Community Resource Center remain open daily, and support their Street Medics program, as well as other activities!
With winter’s chill in the air, BeLoved’s work with the homeless takes on a greater degree of urgency. They have a Wish List of items that will help them to better serve:
General Supplies: tents & camping supplies, sleeping bags, backpacks, socks, coats, winter boots, walking shoes, blankets, pillows, flashlights, headlamps, bungee cords, regular cord, tarps, Sterno, candles
Street Medic Supplies: reusable water bottles, Neosporin or other antibacterial cream, foot powder, cold packs, rescue blankets, duct tape, Chapstick, vapor rub, antacids
For more information, contact BeLoved at (828) 242-8261 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
At December’s regular monthly meeting, your local Branch of NAACP will be accepting and collecting supplies to deliver to BeLoved. Please feel free to bring items from the Wish List to that meeting. We meet on Tuesday, December 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary of Hill Street Baptist Church, 135 Hill Street, Asheville 28801.
Wishing you Joy, Peace and Love throughout the Holidays and the New Year!
The Asheville-Buncombe NAACP, Branch #5363, meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month in the Sanctuary of Hill Street Baptist Church, 135 Hill Street in Asheville.
