The public is invited to join the discussion of Lalita Tademy’s riveting novel “Cane River,” on Sunday, January 29, 2017 from 4-6 p.m. at the Delta House, 218 South French Broad Avenue in Asheville.
The novel was named a New York Times bestseller and has also been listed as one of Oprah’s Book Club pick. Tademy utilizes a wonderful balance of fact and fiction to navigate through four generations of African American women born into slavery along the Cane River located in Louisiana. The women battle through great injustices to unite their family and form their very own legacy.
Members of the community are welcomed and are expected to have read the novel. In order to plan a successful book discussion, it is important to know how many will attend. If you plan to attend this discussion, please contact Eula Shaw at firstname.lastname@example.org or (828) 277-5625.
