Oprah Winfrey

In the past quarter century, Oprah Winfrey evolved from a mere reporter at Chicago’s WLS to the queen of all media and one of the most influential women of this generation. Her latest endeavor can be described in one word: Epic!

In a joint venture with Discovery Communications, Winfrey will launch the OWN Network in January. Winfrey and Discovery unveiled three original series, the premiere schedule and the regular schedule on Nov.1.

Included in the OWN original series lineup are “The Judds,” “Carson Nation,” and “The O’Neals.” “The Judds” follows Naomi and Wynonna Judd as the country music icons prepare for their first tour together in a decade. Fashion designer Carson Kressley will travel to small towns across the nation to transform lives and wardrobes in “Carson Nation,” while “The O’Neals” will follow the father-daughter acting duo of Ryan and Tatum O’Neal as they strive to reclaim their relationship after being estranged for 25 years.

OWN’s regular schedule will include “The Best Of Dr. Phil,” “Trading
Spaces,” “Anna and Kristina’s Grocery Bag,” “Enough Already with Peter
Walsh,” and “In The Bedroom with Dr. Laura Berman,” “Mystery Diagnosis,”
and “Miracle Detectives.”

During the premiere weekend, OWN will broadcast “Oprah Presents Master
Class.” Jay-Z and Dianne Sawyer will be the two stars featured on the
show.

According to the network’s website, OWN “will explore the issues that
matters to you and the moments that move you. We’ll look at your health,
home, and relationships. We will show you stories of transformation.”
Discovery Health will become OWN at noon on January 1, 2011.

Raz-B

Switching gears from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows, we have
former B2K member Raz-B accusing group manager Chris Stokes and R&B
“singer” Marques Houston of molestation. Raz-B released a video on in
the wake of the Bishop Eddie Long controversy accusing the two of
molesting him.

To further drive home the point, Raz-B released a second video with a
co-signer. In this recent video, Raz-B is shown having a conversation
with fellow singer Quindon Tarver where the American Idol reject
basically revealed that he was also molested by Houston and Stokes. The
videos contain graphic language and are definitely not safe for work.

TI and his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, AKA Hip Hop’s version of “Bonnie
and Clyde” is in the news once again for the sentencing stemming from
their traffic stop and arrest two months ago in Los Angeles. TI is
scheduled to begin his 11 month stay in an Arkansas federal prison on
November 1 since his arrest and failed drug test violated his probation
on a weapons conviction.

The Los Angeles County D.A. filed a misdemeanor drug possession charge
against Cottle on October 29. The D.A. charges the former Xcape singer
with possession of Ecstasy during the incident in West Hollywood in
September. The drug charges against TI were dropped.

Mariah Carey

On a much lighter and upbeat note and one for the “this isn’t really a
secret” files, singer and actress Mariah Carey is pregnant with her
first child. The 41-year-old diva came clean in a recent interview on
NBC’s Today Show confirming what has been whispered about for months.

Carey did not reveal her due date in the interview only saying that
“it’s still early.” She and her husband, Nick Cannon, spoke of the
desire to have children in a series of coy references to pregnancy and
babies during the past few months.
