‘Street Corner Blues’ Runs Encore Performances

streetcornerblues_ad.jpgAsheville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts will extend the run of the original play, “Street Corner Blues,” with performances at Asheville Community Theater (A.C.T.) located at 35 E. Walnut St., and UNC-Asheville’s Lipinsky Auditorium located at 1 University Heights, Asheville.

Performance Schedule
•     Friday, February 13 at 7 p.m. (A.C.T. Main stage)
•     Saturday, February 14 at 7 p.m. (A.C.T. Main stage)
•     Thursday, April 9 at 7 p.m. (UNCA Lipinsky Auditorium)

The play, written by Anthony Alexander, looks back 40 years to April
4, 1968 — the day Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated — through
the lives of an average family and their everyday struggles during that
time.

The cast features community members from throughout Asheville including students from Asheville High School.

Admission is $10 for adults ages 18 and older. Young people
under 18 are $5. This play is recommended for ages 13 and older. For
